Desfile de Día de Muertos | Querétaro, y entonces encontré México

DA vertical documentary reel of the traditional Día de Muertos parade 2025, made during my internship for the campaign “Querétaro, y entonces encontré México”. I filmed the sequences at the parade and edited the reel, focusing on the emotion of the event and its floats.

BRIEF

The goal was to promote this cultural event as part of the campaign “Querétaro, y entonces encontré México”. The Secretaría de Turismo del Estado de Querétaro asked me to document the emotion of the parade and its floats.

RESEARCH

I learned what the parade was about and its route from my supervisors at the Secretaría de Turismo del Estado de Querétaro and Querétaro Travel, and I documented it firsthand.

CONCEPT

There was no script: the reel is built from sequences captured during the parade. Because of the crowd and my position along the route, I had no wide shots, so I focused on close and medium shots. I created a blue-orange color palette to capture the mood of the season, with calm, representative music.

PRODUCTION & POST-PRODUCTION

I filmed the sequences and edited the reel in Adobe Premiere Pro, where I made the dynamic title, synced the licensed music (from a private music library), color graded the footage and adjusted the pacing. Filming meant working at night with low light, constant movement, people pushing and very little space.

REVIEW

The Secretaría de Turismo del Estado de Querétaro and Querétaro Travel supervised the work and requested no changes.

RESULT

The reel was published on the social media of the Secretaría de Turismo del Estado de Querétaro, Querétaro Travel and Asomarte. My supervisor was happy with the result.
